Care guide
TREAT ME WITH LOVE
We want to make sure you get the most out of your Dante6 garments.
The better you care for your garments, the more joy you will get out of them.
With this care guide we want to help you increase the longevity of your clothes, while at the same time limiting the impact on the environment.
How often you wash your garment has an effect on the environment as well as the longevity of the garment.
Therefore, we advise you to wash your garment only when necessary.
Here you can read our washing tips and guidelines per material. You can also find information per style at the product page in our webshop, tab material and care, for washing instructions and how to take the best care of your item.
Our care tips:
- Does your garment really need to be washed? Or does it just need to freshen up. Air your clothes on a hanger in an open window if they are not really dirty.
- To prevent garments from being damaged during washing, always follow the instructions on the care label for specific instructions made for each garment.
- Use an environmentally friendly, mild detergent. This ensures that the original colour, fabric and shape will be pre served as long as possible.
- Never use bleach or use detergents which contain bleach.
- Turn your garment inside out before washing as the washing cycle can be abrasive to fabrics; not only do clothes rub against one another, but the detergent along with zippers and buttons can be damaging to the colour and fabric.
- It is highly recommended to use a laundry net for all delicate items.
Viscose, Tencel, Modal, Cupro (+ mix)
These are fabrics that are based on the same raw materials, namely cellulose. Cellulose is a fiber found in plants and trees that provides structural strength. Cellulose fibers are also called artificial silk because they have a lovely, luxurious appearance. They are also extremely comfortable to wear and are breathable in hot weather. Garments made from these fibers should be treated with extra care. Please always check the label inside the garment for the accurate washing instructions. Dry cleaning is highly recommended to retain the garments softness and shape, however when washing at home, please follow the next instructions:
- Turn inside out before washing
- Cold fine wash
- Do not spin
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry
- Reshape your garment by ironing it while still damp
- Cool iron on reverse side
- Shrinkage of 3-5% is allowed
- Keep sharp objects away from this delicate fabric
Check the label of every garment for washing instructions. Your product has been made with love, and it is best to treat it like that too.
Any questions please contact: In the unlikely event that the label is missing, please contact us at info@dante6.nl for washing instructions or contact Dante6 Head office, phone +31 10 208 08 50.
(Recycled) Wool, Merino wool, Virgin wool, Alpaca (+ mix)
Every natural fibre in knitwear should be treated with special care and attention. Some items are advised to hand wash only so please always read the care label in your garment.
Wool comes from the fleece of a sheep's thick winter coat, which is shorn in warmer months. Wool is a breathable material; it keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer. Pilling of wool and other natural fibres may appear while used, this is a natural occurrence in animal fibers and can be maintained with a pilling comb or shaver. Some wool garments can be washed on cold wool program while other garments should be hand washed only. Please check the label inside the garment for the accurate way of washing.
Note: Wool has self-cleaning qualities and therefore it is not necessary to wash it very often. In fact, your wool garment will last longer if you wash it less often.

Polyester (+ mix)
Polyester is a generalised term for any fabric or textile, which is made using polyester yarns or fibres. It is made by mixing ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. That all sounds extremely scientific, but basically, polyester is a synthetic material.
Polyester is resistant to shrinking and stretching, as well as wrinkling and abrasions. It is easy to look after and can be washed and dried at home.
